BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Gumbel is a U.S. correspondent for the London newspaper The Independent. He is now living in Los Angeles, and the author of the newly published Steal This Vote:
Dirty Elections and the Rotten History of Democracy in America (Nation Books).
Before coming to the United States seven years ago, he was stationed mainly in Europe and covered the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of communism in the Soviet bloc, the Yugoslav wars of secession, the rise of the prototype corporate media mogul turned politician, Silvio Berlusconi, and the swinging democratic fortunes of post-Hoxha Albania.
